The Biggest Pavement Maintenance Trends from 2019

It is hard to believe that we are in the final weeks of 2019 and 2020 is quickly approaching. With the year coming to a close, we take a look back at one of the biggest pavement maintenance trend that we noticed this past year.

One key development according to TheAsphaltPro.com is that the use of recycled asphalt materials in preservation methods this season are coming from the federal level.

The biggest game changer for the Asphalt Recycling and Reclaiming Association (ARRA) was really the MAP-21 Highway Bill that was enacted back in 2012. This bill required states to develop and implement an asset management system and through this we have seen states shift their focus to preventative maintenance and preservation of the national highway system. This has created substantial growth for our member companies and new markets that did not exist prior to this.
